Personal Pronouns. Subject and Object Pronouns

1. Study the rule.

We use personal pronouns in place of nouns. They may be subject (she) or object (her).

We often use object pronouns after be.

e.g. Who is it? – It’s me.

We do not use I, she, etc. on their own in answer to questions with Who?. In everyday speech we use object pronouns or personal pronouns + verb.

e.g. Who told him? – Not me. /I didn’t.

We use object pronouns after as and than.

e.g. He’s taller than me. He’s as tall as me. He’s taller than I’m. He’s as tall as I’m.
