Another, Other

Another can mean

- different, e.g.Come another day.

- additional, e.g. We need another day to finish this.

 

When we are talking about two people or things and have already referred to one of them, you refer to the second one as the other or the other one.

e. g. He blew one of the two candles and moved to the other.

 

We can contrast some and other(s) when we talk about things in general.

e.g. Some holidays are cheap and other holidays (others) are expensive.

 

 We use the other or the others when referring to particular things.

e.g Homer was greater than all the other Greek poets.

 

 

 

 

 

 

2. Supply another, the other, the others and others.
